In 1981 our founder, Jim Oliver, left his position as Controller and Director of Finance for Harte-Hanks Cable. Jim decided it was time to make his own strategic business move. With an entrepreneurial personality and strong public accounting experience with one of the top national CPA firms, he started his own CPA practice.Jim opened his practice in November of 1981. His first client (the leasing agent for the firm's first three-room office) is still a client today. Jim built his fledgling business with very creative marketing approaches. Through regular TV and radio appearances, an appearance in MONEY Magazine as their top tax preparer and networking through family, friends and community service, Jim was able to build a client base that now includes individuals, families, some of San Antonio's best known businesses, and even a few local and national celebrities.
